Frequencies
All radios shall use the legal frequencies listed in the Hong Kong Tables of Frequency Allocations issued by the Office of Communications Authority of the Government of Hong Kong SAR. The following frequencies are allocated for radio controlled model aircraft in Hong Kong.
35MHz : 35.150, 35.160, 35.170, 35.180, 35.190, 35.200, 35.210 and 35.220

2.4GHz spread spectrum.
We highly recommend using 2.4GHz for easier frequency control.

Local rules
1, Launching failure by the helper
Whether the failure is caused by the competitor or the helper, the competitor will get a 0 mark unless it is under the conditions described in FAI F3F.5.
2, Model crashed during landing
Model crashed during a landing will not be considered as a landing failure, as long as it crashed in the landing zone.
3, Re-flight procedure
No airborne reflight is allowed. All re-flight must be carried out after a proper landing according to the instruction of the Contest Director (CD). If the landing failed, the re-flight will be cancelled and result in a 0 mark (DNF).
(See also FAI F3F.5 and FAI F3F.17 about the reflight procedures.)
4, Take off and landing areas
All take off and landing must be carried out at the designated take off and landing areas. Failure to do so will result in a DNS or DNF. Details of the take off and landing areas of each flying site will be announced during competition briefing.
Complaints
Pilots are entitled to file a complaint or to lodge a protest. Protest fee is HK$500. If the protest is upheld the deposit is to be returned.

Accommodation and Travel
Accommodation
Nearby hotels:
Regal Riverside Hotel, Shatin (recommended) |
Royal Park Hotel, Shatin |
Hyatt Regency, Shatin |
For ease of arranging transport and pickup for oversea pilots, we recommend oversea pilots staying in nearby Regal Riverside Hotel. A standard twin room costs about US$120 per night.
Going to Hong Kong
Hong Kong International Airport is one of the largest and most modern in the world. There are more than 40 airlines from around the world that fly into the airport at Chek Lap Kok. Carriers to Hong Kong include: Asiana, British Airways, Canadian, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Airlines, Continental, Finnair, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Northwest Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, United Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic.
Travelling in Hong Kong
Many hotels provide free airport shuttle bus transfer, including Regal Riverside Hotel we recommended. You may like to contact them for more information from the hotel official web site.
HKRCSS provides shuttle bus between the flying site and Regal Riverside Hotel on the three competition days. Please state this in the registration if you want the transportation arrangement.
Alternately, some of the local pilots can also give you a ride. Please contact them individually.
Car rental in Hong Kong is not very popular because of the very limited parking spaces. If you are travelling in the city, UBER / taxi and the MTR (Mass Transit Railway) are the most preferred ways.
Drone rules
If you want to fly a drone (250g ~ 7kg) in Hong Kong, you need to register both the drone and the pilot.
Currently there is no registration required to fly un-powered R/C gliders in Hong Kong, as long as the glider is not over 7kg of weight.
