Lunch will be in a sea food restaurant on the island. Arrangement will be made with the restaurant to provide transport from and to the flying site during lunch break. Cost for the lunch will be equally divided.

Other information

  • There will be a 30 minutes practice time prior to the contest  for fellow pilots to test the course for landing.
  • If possible, HKRCSS will arrange a fully-charged car battery on site, so that fellow pilots may recharge their battery on site. However, you need to provide your own charging cord because different pilots may use different battery connectors. Anyway, we HIGHLY recommend that you take along with your fully-charged batteries with you and only use the on-site charger at the last resort.
  • We will run at least 5 rounds of competition, however, if time is allowed, CD may decide to run one or  more rounds.

Driving Information (See a panorama view of the flying site)

Lamma Island is on the southern part of the Hong Kong territory. The flying site is on an abundant quarry field in Suk Kwu Wan. We can rent a Chinese Junk boat to get there from Sham Wan, Aberdeen (please see the map below). The ride takes about 30 minutes. You can park your car in a covered car park (inside South Wave Court) in Sham Wan for just $35 per day and then walk down to the quay as shown in the map below. Please arrive at the quay at 9:00am and the boat will depart shortly.

All are welcome!

For details and advance registration please contact HKRCSS vice chairman Stanley Chan.
